Oct. 12, 2012 OHA Director's messages on the web
To: All OHA employees
From: Bruce Goldberg, M.D., Director

Register: It's quick. It's easy. It's important.

"People often say that, in a democracy, decisions are made by a majority of the people. Of course, that is not true. Decisions are made by a majority of those who make themselves heard and who vote – a very different thing." ~Walter H. Judd

Last week I talked about the how serving in the National Health Service Corps helped set me on a career of public service. And as public employees, we all do our part every day to make our state a better place.

That's why I want to remind everyone that time is running out to register to vote in the upcoming November election.

The deadline is October 16. You can register online until 11:59 p.m. that day at oregonvotes.gov or until 5 p.m. in person at your local county elections office. You can find your local county elections office here.

I urge you not to wait until the last minute to register. Voting is one of the most important rights we have and no one should miss a chance to make their vote count.
